I am a new fan of the Judy from Schaumburg show.

Although a bit obsessed with her own cleavage, Judy* is both charming and sarcastic and will leave you wanting more. So, if you miss Oprah (I was never an O fan), you’ll have to watch Judy’s debut show. An interview of my friend, Jon-David.

Jon-David—one of the 37 top Social Media Personalities of 2011—is the eBook author of the Mafia Hairdresser, which is based on his own experiences in the get-rich-quick 80s.

A young hairdresser climbs the L.A. social-scene ladder to reach more than he bargained for by moonlighting for a cocaine trafficking couple. Cars made out of coke, Hawaiian vacations, glitzy clothes & a steady flow of money makes a fabulously dangerous lifestyle that becomes murderous. Irony, hypocrisy or hilarity, Jon-David’s unapologetic expose’ of a fabulously dangerous lifestyle will keep you laughing, even if many of his friends did not survive to laugh with you.

My take on the book.

Sheer entertainment! Something I need after a day of keeping up with current environmental and social issues around the globe. I also read Jon-David’s follow-up book, Glow Stick Gods, and look forward to his 3rd. Listen to Jon-David talk more about his work with Casey Ryan on The Cutting Room Floor Feb 3rd at 9pm CST.

Looking forward to more Judy from Schaumburg!

PS. I love funny reading. It impacts my mood. I’m currently reading an older book by Delia Nephron which is written with humor but has a sad subject matter: Dying parent who goes crazy first. Guess what? I’m depressed because of it! I say never again, at least not before I go to bed. Please share your humorous book suggestions! (the more outrageously funny the better).

* Judy is a fictional character.
